Ten little members standing in a line
One dislikes the president, and then there were nine
Nine ambitious offered to work late,
One forgot the promise, and then there were eight.
Eight creative members had ideas well as heaven
One lost enthusiasm, and there were seven
Seven loyal members got into a fix
They quarreled over progress and there were six
Six members remained with the sprit and drive
One moved away and then there were five
Five steadfast members wished there were more
One become indifferent, and then there were four
Four cheerful members who never disagree
Till one complained of meetings, and then there were three
Three eager members! What do they do?
One got discouraged, and then there were two
Two lonely members our rhyme is nearly done
One joined the bridge club, and there was one.
One faithful members was feeling rather blue
Met with a neighbor, then there were two
Two earnest members, each enrolled one more
Doubling their members and then there were four
Four determined members just couldn’t wait,
Till each won another and then there were eight
Eight excited members signed up 16 more
In another six verses, there will be a thousand twenty four!
This was sent in a mail to all the rotary members of the district 3270. After reading it I figured out that this is not just implemented to this organization but applies to every situation where team work is required. And in today's world no one can succeed without forming a team.
